In 2008, the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund supported The Kasiisi Project for their program, The Kibale Schools Conservation Project.  This program focuses on expanding conservation education in nine forest edge, government primary schools bordering Kibale National Park in Uganda. Morale is low for many teachers in Uganda, largely due to inefficient training and a surplus of work. In a survey of 64 teachers less than 1/5 of them had seen savannah animals and many of them lack experience with wildlife education. Instructions to apply for a Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund Award

We recognize that the challenges facing wildlife today are numerous, including habitat destruction, conflicts between people and animals, and lack of space for both. As global citizens, we want to help experts create solutions to these issues by providing some of the resources they so desperately need. Whether they swim, fly, crawl, slither, or hop, endangered animals are the focus of the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund.
